Their propaganda isn't working since everybody’s waking up to China’s real strength—our phones, clothes, tech, all stamped "Made in China."

I will try checking Xiaohongshu. Thank you for sharing

Well, the essential efforts such as yours are essential for the weeding out of garden Humanity. So, gardening it is, after all. 😁

*Especially if written years later when we are all supposed to be so much more sophisticated* -> 21 centuries in and that is still one epic pipe dream, owing to the small-d-small-b syndrome's plague-like proliferation at lightning speed. Thanks heaps of heaps for keeping that Promethean torch a light with your unrelenting-truth-to-power writing! ✊🏼

Thanks, you're welcome Xiu. It's a shame that we have to keep the lies in check. I'd rather be doing the gardening.

Over here journos who should know better keep writing/broadcasting "opinion pieces" about what we will do "when" "China starts a war" or "China invades us'. talk about cold war mentality. Nothing about US bases in the pacific, near taiwan - it's clear to see who wants a war, and its not China.

Of all the positive stories you could tell about China one hears nothing. It's a complete info lockdown, which is why I've pointed out for years that rendering us invisible turns us into a blank canvas onto which any monsters can be projected. Just like this radio serialisation. (I'll never read the book.)

Except that Daughters of the Bamboo Grove does NOT tell the story of the LA Times’ bureau chief adopting anyone.

Yes, she worked with the adopting couple so was personally involved but wasn’t the distressed mother herself.

Why is this outdated story being touted now when America is gunning for China and there’s a huge anti-China propaganda budget?

Wow, Anna, that really sucks.

The powers that be want to bring us back to a racist, cliche filled past. Sickening.

I hope you write that book.

Cheers, Diana. The West is building up to a war on China and this representation comes out. Of course, you never hear about modern China in the media, which one reason why all those TikTok refugees were so shocked by the reality that it was they who were third world and the Chinese were living in the future.

Western powers are crazy right now from my point of view. Their war mongering towards China and Iran terrifies me. There's lots of resistance on the ground, but it very seldom gets coverage, it seems.

The refusal to humanise us — unless in some domestic pet capacity — facilitates their war project. It's utterly shameless.

I agree, Anna -- utterly shameless is right.
